From our RuMeChange trial, findings suggest that individuals who ruminate frequently show poor inhibitory control, and when ruminating, brain networks that work to control and suppress negative thoughts became active. In addition, certain network activity individuals who ruminate often will possibly disengage from a present task and begin focusing on themselves rather than the task.
